Background: The concept of digital twins has great potential for transforming the existing health care system by making it more personalized. As a convergence of health care, artificial intelligence, and information and communication technologies, personalized health care services that are developed under the concept of digital twins raise a myriad of ethical issues. Although some of the ethical issues are known to researchers working on digital health and personalized medicine, currently, there is no comprehensive review that maps (...)

  43. Digital Authentication for Wireless Domain Using Variable Marking of Multiple Secret Signatures and its Practical Implication in E-Stamp Authentication.Mohit Gangwar - 2024 - International Journal of Intelligent Systems and Applications in Engineering 12 (2):29-41.
This work focuses on enhancing security for transmitted e-documents, such as e-stamp papers, within wireless environments through dynamic authentication using variable circular concealment of multiple invisible signature images. This method is driven by encrypted secret keys and session-based random numbers, alongside a region-specific bit casting strategy and dynamic bit sequencing for multiple signatures to bolster security and robustness. Multi-copy signature marking on non-overlapping document areas, coupled with varied bit encoding strategies for each modified pixel byte coefficient in cover image sub-blocks, (...)

In the digital age, the concept of identity has evolved in ways that challenge long-held philosophical assumptions about the self. No longer has fixed or continuous, identity become fragmented, shaped by multiple digital personas that people craft in response to the ever-expanding digital universe. Now, there is no sense of a fixed self that remains constant throughout space and time. Self and identity can be seen as a Heraclitean flux always in a state of becoming and never (...)

  46. Preservation or Transformation: A Daoist Guide to Griefbots.Pengbo Liu - forthcoming - In Henry Shevlin, AI in Society: Relationships (Oxford Intersections). Oxford University Press.
Griefbots are chatbots modeled on the personalities of deceased individuals, designed to assist with the grieving process and, according to some, to continue relationships with loved ones after their physical passing. The essay examines the promises and perils of griefbots from a Daoist perspective. According to the Daoist philosopher Zhuangzi, death is a natural and inevitable phenomenon, a manifestation of the constant changes and transformations in the world. This approach emphasizes adaptability, flexibility, and openness to alternative ways of relating to (...)

Digital Privacy in P&C Claims Processing: Balancing Innovation with Regulatory Requirements.Ravi Teja Madhala Sateesh Reddy Adavelli - 2021 - International Journal of Science and Research 10 (3):2042-2053.
This paper examines the challenges and lessons learned for Property and Casualty (P&C) insurers as they look to balance technological innovation against regulatory compliance, specifically regarding privacy laws. These technologies have been adopted rapidly, from Artificial Intelligence (AI), blockchain, and the Internet of Things (IoT), to transform how claims are processed, resulting in efficiencies, improved fraud detection and increased customer-centeredness. While these advancements have brought much to the table, they hold great fear regarding the data privacy, security, and compliance involved. (...)

Günther Anders offers one of the first phenomenological analyses of broadcast radio (in 1930) and its transformation of the contemporary experience of music. Anders also develops a reflection on its political consequences as he continues his reflection in a discussion of radio and newsreel, film and television in his 1956 ‘The World as Phantom and Matrix’. A reflection on the consequences of this transformation brings in Friedrich Kittler’s reflection on radio and precision bombing. A further reflection on Jean (...)
