Methods: In this paper, the expert system is designed for the ability of doctors to detect and diagnose disease of thyroid. The proposed expert system presents an overview about thyroid diseases are given, the cause of diseases are outlined and the treatment of disease whenever possible is given out. SL5 Object Expert System language was used for designing and implementing the proposed expert system. Results: The expert system in the diagnosis of thyroid diseases was assessed by Medical student and doctors they were satisfied and accepted with its quality of performance.
